Congratulations to your child and you!  You have completed your first grading period of 1st grade.  Your child has learned and accomplished a lot!  The second grading period will bring some changes.  Please carefully read over the listed changes.  If you have any questions please contact your child’s teacher.  Thank you for supporting and encouraging your child.

2nd Grading Period Changes

• If your child uses incorrect capitalization on a spelling test, the world will be marked wrong.
• Reversal of “b” and “d” will be marked wrong.
• Reversal of any letters other than “b” and “d” will be marked minus 1 point.
• Oral word reading (not sight words) will become Oral Reading Fluency Thursday, October 29.2009.  We will send home a scored example before this date.
