In Case of an Emergency – Know Your Doors

I remember when my son came home from school terrified about the house catching on fire.  They had been discussing the whole stop, drop and roll stuff and he was just a bit miffed at what he would do if he couldn’t get out of his room.  He actually slept with us for a few nights until he was over that spell.

Another important aspect that your children need to know and understand in case of emergencies is the door furniture that you have in your home.  Are the doors easy to open?  Are they easy for you but for a child, how well do they fare?

It’s important to teach your children the best places to go when an emergency occurs whether it i a fire or a thunderstorm or tornado.  It’s particular good to teach the kids about door ways and so they are prepared.  It will definitely take some of the fear out of their busy little minds.
