I write a lot.  I spend a lot of time online and I encounter many virus’s online.  It’s imperative to find virus protection software that can protect your computer.  And, if you are online as much as I am, you will eventually get a bug.  Then, the next thing to happen is you’ll be looking for anti-virus software to help you recover what you are in danger of losing.
