Your child’s reading folder and six-weeks notice are coming home TODAY. PLEASE read each section of the folder and the weekly notice CAREFULLY, so that you are fully aware of ALL requirements; in both homework and tests. EVERYTHING is in the folder!!!!!

Wednesday, August 19th – Number Words test (one-ten) View Sample Test
Thursday, August 20th – Selection test on Sam, Come Back! This test deals with the phonetic principals and comprehension from the story. Oral reading test (these words will come from Sam, Come Back!)
Friday, August 21st – Spelling, sight words, vocabulary.

Students will be tested on the number words one – ten next Wednesday. The test will be fill-in-the-blank. The students will write the correct number beside the number word (such as 7 seven). This will count as our first math grade.

We know that the economy is awful right now and that we are all having to watch how much money we are spending. We also know that you just had to buy a lot of supplies for your child. We asked for $25 to cover additional supplies that could not be purchased individually. [...]

2 packs of pencil-top erasers (only plain, no decorative)

Please remember students may not bring a can drink or any drink with a label on it into the lunchroom. they may bring these drinks in a thermos. This isn’t my policy; it’s state nutritional policy. Please see me or send a note if you need a free or reduced lunch form.

Field Trips vary from year to year. Some field trips will involve parents and some won’t. Field trip permission forms must always be filled out and returned to the teacher as well as the money for the trip. Parents will be notified of trips when they’re planned.
